Hello! I made this card for my teaching partner, Mary Lynn. Here are the details:
-Stamp: Teachabella
-Ribbon: Hobby Lobby, ribbon by the yard
-Colors: Card stock SU Purely Pomegranate, Blue bayou, Whisper White
-Other, Cuttlebug, Divine Swirls embossing folder, Non SU pewter brads, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, blending stumps,

Can you believe I found ribbon so close to Blue Bayou?!! I didn't have a card stock sample with me but I had a gut feeling that it was right. It was on clearance for $1.18 for about 15 yards. What a Deal!!!!!

I have been doing lots of shopping in preparation for back to school. I have to say that I am one of those people who shop around for the best deals on supplies each week. My favorite so far has been Staples! They had crayons for 5 cents, binders for 33cents, Crayola markers for 68 cents. I just get what I need, but lots of my students don't come to school with supplies or they lose them by the end of the first quarter. I like to be prepared! I spent the entire day in my boiling hot classroom today. It was miserable. But, I got a ton of work done. Dropping the kids off at daycare was not fun. Nathan was okay but Paige was very upset. She told us she didn't want to go because "she didn't want to wipe her BUTT by herself!" That's four years old for you!

Crazy Christmas Card/ Stampaway USA Convention

Wow! My dear friend Heather and I went to the Stampaway USA Stamping Convention here in Cincinnati today. It was very cool and I could have spent SOOOOOOOO much money there! I left with only two goodies! Can you believe it!? Hopefully I'll get to play tonight!
I forgot to tell you the really cool news! I met BADSHERRY! How cool is that! I recognized her from her Splitcoast picture. It it funny how much you pay attention to things like that!
Here is the card that I made last night. It is way too busy for my taste but you know how these cards just take over!!!
The patterned paper is Rob And Bob as is the scalloped cut out and snowflake. The ribbon is dots and dashes and the card stock is wild wasabi and whisper white. No stamps on this baby! I'll post again in the morning!

Back To School

Hello! I hope this finds everyone to be doing great! I am getting my classroom ready to go back to school this week and next. There is no AC so with the 100 degree temperatures it is very miserable. I am too tired to stamp! I know! Me!?? Well, this weekend I hope to get back into the stampin' mode! I am headed to a stamping convention here in Cincinnati so I know I'll get some inspiration there! I'll take pictures and post all of the goodies that I find!

I was inspired to make this card by a gift bag that I saw at my sister's house yesterday. It was shades of baby blue and very different patters, but this is what I could come up with.
-Paper: bashful blue, real red, Baby Boy Dots (Archiver's)
-Tools: Cuttlebug, dots embossing folder, buttons
Have a Fabulous day!

My Latest Christmas Cards

Here are two cards that I finished last night. I didn't stamp at all! the only thing I used was a Rob and Bob Christmas stack from a few years back. I never knew what to do with the whimsical patterns and none of the colors match the SU colors. I like how they turned out!
-Tools: corner rounder punch, SU
-Ribbon: Ric Rac, Walmart, SU white grosgrain
Have a great day!

Wednesday's Card

Wednesday is going to be absolutely crazy around here so I am uploading now! I made this card for the Dirty Girl Challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. This was a sketch challenge from Beate. This is my favorite sketch so far! It just fell together for me! Gotta Love when that happens!!!!!
Paper: Close to Cocoa, whisper white, MME patterned and blue
Ribbon: May Arts
Tools: Mat Pack, Cuttlebug, Quick Cutz bottle cap and small circle, Quick Cutz rub ons
Stamps: Happy Everything

Have a great Wednesday!

Ok. This is a bit busy, wild and crazy for my taste but once I started cutting this thing out there was no turning back! I made this purse for the Dirty Girl challenge, think outside the box, for Splitcoast Stampers Fan club. You were supposed to make something besides a card. I used a template from a K&Co. purse kit that I got at Archivers. I just punched out the purse that they provided and traced it onto this patterned paper. I would do it again using less crazy paper!
-template: K&Co
-Patterned paper-MME Magnolia stack
-Flowers- Bazzil Wings, Prima
-other- non SU brads, stickles, ribbons, eyelets
-Tools- Cropadile, Cuttlebug Tiny Tags
Thanks for looking!

First Scrapbook Upload

I spent the day at Archivers this past Saturday. It was very relaxing! This is one of the pages that I completed of my daughter, Paige. We were at Cox Arboretum in Dayton, OH. When I got home from Archivers I realized that the patterned paper does not have a manufacturer on the back. I will check back at the store if anyone wants to know who made it. The letters and numbers are Lollipop die cuts from Ellison. I used Bazzil basics card stock for the letters and numbers. The flowers are from Hobby Lobby and the buttons are from Bag o' Buttons. The green ric rac is from MM.
Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!

Shopping: For once in my life I don't know what I want to order this month from Stampin' Up. I need your input. This is quite possibly my last order for this cattie! What would you order?

Each day members of the Fan Club will get four challenges and on Saturday and Sunday there are eight. This is very motivating to me because it gives me a place to start! I made this card as a combination of the make a card with an animal challenge and the sketch challenge. I used:

Ink: Stazon ink,

Wow! I was busy stamping last night! I wanted to make a simple Javabella card. I used SU whisper white, close to cocoa, and certainly celery card stock. I used stazon black ink and Prismacolor pencils with Gamsola and blending stumps to color the ladies. I glazed the shoes and vase for a shiny effect (can't see it!). I used the Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder. The ribbon is from May Arts.

For the second card I was attempting the Splitcoast color challenge. It was difficult for me to put these colors together. I am not loving it! I used the Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder, Word window punch, Fun Fibers, hemp twine, Old Olive, Regal Rose, and Pretty In Pink card stock. The Sentiment is Happy Everything.

For the third card I used Crate Paper! I love this paper. I attempted to do Jen del Muro's sketch challenge for this one. The sentiment is Happy everything. I used the ticket corner punch for the corners. I used non SU brads and ribbon.

Thanks for checking in!

Last Day For Blog Candy

Well! 700 hits came and went by quickly! When my hubby comes home I'll have him pick a random number between one and however many hits are in the blog candy post. So, you have until about 7 pm tonight to leave your comment.
I'll post the winner tonight after 8pm.
This card is 4.25x4.25. The image is SU, Friends Are Like Flowers, the BG is Great Impressions. I used Prismacolor pencils and Buckaroo Blue ink/card stock. I died the ribbon with my Buckaroo ink pad. I like the subtle color it gives. I tried using the reinker to die the ribbon but it was too dark.
I think that there are tons of things I could do to this card to improve it now that I am looking at it on the computer! Maybe I'll make some changes and post again later today!
I am feeling better! Thanks to all who asked!

Here are the two cards that I worked on last night. I used Crate Paper- Baby Bee. I don't think this paper has to be just for baby! I love it! The card on the left could be for a baby. I used SU A is for Adorable, SU pumpkin pie ink and very vanilla card stock. The ribbon is non SU and I used the slit punch for the scallops. I used Mary mega square punch for the sentiments- which are "popped"up. The card on the right if for my cousin, Heidi (Sweetheidijo, sweetsomethings). She designed the fabulous banner for my blog and I just wanted to thank her. I used SU mellow moss for the sentiment and punched holes in the scallops. The tag is Cuttlebug, tiny tags and the little flower is Studio G (Michael's $1). I used mellow moss and pumpkin pie markers on the flower stamp. The flowers are Prima and the rhinestone brad is from MM. I used my cropadile to attach a so saffron eyelet to the tag, and hemp chord. Thanks for sharing!!!
Don't forget to leave a comment in the blog candy post!

Hey! Thanks to all of you who came out to support my new blog! This is so fun! And no, my hubby has not fixed my banner yet. I really did try but I just ended up messing things up! Here are a couple of black and white cards that I made- just needed something different! The sentiments are SU Sincere Salutations. The black cardstock is non SU- cheap. I used SU white craft ink for the sentiment. The patterned paper is from a black and white stack- I think it is DCWV ( I ripped off the cover-sorry!). I used the Marvy mega scallop punch for the sentiment. The stitched ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.
Don't forget to enter a comment to win the blog candy! It won't be long now!!!!

I am joining the living again!

Well, I am feeling a little better today, still not up to stamping. Mostly because I have fallen so far behind in housework I might never catch up. Here is a little project I did for my Christmas in July party. I used baby food jars and painted the lids with MM paint. Then, I attached a red prima and rhinestone to the lid. The paper is Cosmo Cricket, Dutch girl. The tag is from Cuttlebug Tiny Tags set. The flower (SO CUTE) is from a $1 Michael's set. The red double stitched ribbon is from Walmart. The white is from SU (Don't get me started on the SU ribbon switcharoo! They really let me down with the going from 25yards to 15 and then raising the prices!) I filled these with Jelly Bellies.
Shopping:
Our HL has ribbon on sale half off! You know where I'll be later! Michaels has their 12x12 paper 4 for $1! They have lots of glitter Pocket full of Posies paper!

Tomorrow is Friday and that means BLOG CANDY! For my first blog candy it will be a little over the top!!!! Let's just say that there will be a stamp set among other things!

Monday, July 16, 2007

This is the Christmas card that I am going to attempt to make about 30 of for my family and friends by the end of the month. I am on number three!
I used the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, silver brads, rhinestone brad,
I used SU cardstock: celery, whisper white, non su black.
Non su ribbon- from Meijer- cheap!!!!
I first dipped the snowflake spot stamp into versamark ink then in celery. I sprinkled it with holographic embossing powder and used the heat tool! Voila!

New Banner

Thanks Heidi for designing my BEAUTIFUL new banner! I love it! I know it is off center and too large- I haven't figured out how to fix it. I just don't have the energy to fool with it today. SOON!
I have been ill for the last few days. Today is the first day I have been out of bed long enough to update you! I have pleurisy, a lung condition that pretty much keeps you in bed for a week or two. I'll keep resting this week so that I don't end up with pneumonia. It is contagious so all play dates are off until my fever is gone. Sorry kids!! Needless to say I haven't made any new cards so I'll post one that I haven't shared yet.

Here He Is!

Finally! Harper Daniel Allen made his mommy wait for over three days in the hospital before he decided to grace us with his presence. He is well worth the wait!
He is just 4 pounds-11ounces, 18 inches. He was born on Friday, July 13th at 11:20pm! Lucky day for us!
The red marks on his cheek are from the forceps. FUN!
We are so Blessed to have him in our family!

Harper's card

This is the card that I made for baby Harper, my nephew who will probably be born on Friday the 13th! Lucky kid! This card looks much better in person than it does in this picture! I used SU:
real red, whisper white, ballet blue, bashful blue.
The H is on chipboard and the ribbon is robin egg blue-SU. I did the stitching, which I hate, with glaze pens.
Thanks for looking.

Ready or Not!!!!

Here comes baby Harper!!!
My younger sister, Erin, is being induced tonight. Harper is her first baby. He wasn't due until July 27th but her ultrasounds have shown that Harper is small and the umbilical cord is missing a valve- he isn't getting enough nutrients. Please say a little prayer for her! I'll upload pictures tomorrow of the newest addition to our family!

Latest creations!

The first item is Prezzybella. I think she is so cute! I used white cardstock for the background and all of the other paper is from MME Magnolia collection. I absolutely love all of the paper in that stack! It was just $10 for 180 sheets! I always use my coupons for Michaels and Hobby Lobby to get stuff like this! I used a prima and a button from Bag O Buttons. The tag is a Cuttlebug tiny tag. I used my cropadile to set the eyelets. If you don't have a cropadile--- you don't know what you are missing. I never used eyelets until I bought this product! I made a ribbon box with 20 eyelets in less than 5 minutes! Oh, yeah. Back to the card. I used my Marvy circle scallop punch to do the corner. The ribbon is non SU.

The purse: Wow. I bought a purse kit from K&Co last month. It comes with 32 double sided purse punch outs with embellishments for each one. It was $15 and worth every dime. This little purse is just the right size for gift cards. I added extra embellishments and ribbon, primas, stamped the word "Friend" from SU- Everyday Flexible Phrases. I also inked the edges of the purse and embellishments with Mellow moss. The ribbon for the handle is SU white and moss. The other two green ribbons are non SU. I just made it my own!

Summery Bella

I just love this Bella! My cousin Heidi from sweet somethings surprised me with two sheets of Bellas at my dd's birthday party. She Rocks!
The patterned paper is Crate Paper as is the yellow punch out. I used SU close to cocoa, regal rose and whisper white. I colored her in with SU pastels and a blender pen. I used SU taupe ribbon for the triple ribbons on the right.
Thanks for looking!
What do you think?

SHOPPING:
I want to let all of you know that I just got a coupon in my email from Cookie Cutters. It is for a $9.95 kids hair cut. I know that my kids love to go there! Paige, who is four, begs to go get her hair cut. Nathan, who is 15months had his first haircut there last month and loved driving the car and watching the video. Personally I think it is worth a little extra for the cut if they make the kids feel at home! I'll forward it to you if you are interested. Just send me your email!
Have a fabulous day!!!!

This is my first card with Javabellas.
My sister gave me the sentiment for my birthday and I knew just what to do with it! The image is a little lopsided for my taste but I can't change the stamp! The brunette has stickles all over her dress. I diamond glazed the shoes and the vase.
Cardstock: SU: certainly celery, Whisper white, chocolate chip, bashful blue
Patterned paper: Archiver's
Ink: Black stazon, choc. chip
Other: ribbon, brads, primas, stickles, diamond glaze, prismacolor pencils, gamsol, blending stumps.
What do you think?

My Little Doodles!

These are some of the cards that I am making for our church fund raiser. I used 12x12 paper from MME that I picked up at Hobby Lobby for 25 cents!!!!! I stickled some of the flowers, used rick rack ribbon, non su ribbon, and my Marvy scalloped punches. I colored the images with prisma color pencils, gamsol and blending stumps!
Stamp sets: Doodle That, FriendsAre Like Flowers, Delight in Life- all SU

I have had her for months and not touched her! I KNOW! I just got this cool wave paper from a pack at Archivers. I knew it was time to use her when I opened the paper. The ribbon came off of a birthday present given to my daughter this year. I just couldn't bear to throw it away! Her suit is stickled and her glasses are diamond glazed. The "Sand" is made by spreading tan chalk on the paper then glue, then stickles. What a fun card! Now I'll get her out more often!
I used prismacolor pencils, gamsol and blending stumps to color bella. Thanks Heidi, for the stumps and guidance! You are the best!
Now, where can I find the diet that will give me Bella's body???????

CHRISTMAS IN JULY Party

Here are some of the cards that I made at my Christmas in July party that are actually Christmas cards. I tend to go with some non traditional colors.

The Be Merry card is 3x3. I made it for a 3x3 swap on Splitcoast Stampers. I used all Stampin' Up materials except for the rhinestone brad which is MM. I used The Snowflake Spot for the main image. I used Warm Words for the sentiment, white grosgrain ribbon, Cool Carribean ink and paper, and Whisper White paper. I stamped the snowflake in Versamark then in Cool Carribean. Then, I sprinkled it with holographic embossing powder and used the heat tool. I like the monochromatic look. Thanks to my cousin Heidi for the cool idea! 3x3 cards are a pain. Not enough room to work with in my opinion.
I used the mega scallop circle punch from Marvy to cut out the snowflake. Just a word of advise- Spend the extra money and order the punches with the Clever Lever! I think the old style that I have of this punch is very difficult to use. It is loud and requires tons of pressure.

The Cheers card features The Snowflake Spot set from Stampin' Up. I used my favorite green-Certainly Celery, Real Red, and Whisper white. I also used green and white ribbon by May Arts (from Archiver's). I just feel like this ribbon gives cards such a polished look. It is one of my favorite ribbons that I have found. The button is from a set of Christmas buttons I purchased from Michaels a long time ago. I used the Mat Pack from Stampin Up to punch the holes around the image.

More cards to come tomorrow!!!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Ink: chocolate chip, mellow moss
Ribbon: from Archiver's- green tafeta
Other: Mat Pack- Stampin' Up
Stamps: Main Image-from Archiver's, Rhona FerrarFancy Swirls set, SU-Wonderful Words
