Scrappin'

My sister came over yesterday to do some scrapbooking. Here is a simple, 8x8 page I completed. I have decided to try to do more smaller pages. I feel like the traditional 12x12 are sometimes too large of an area to work with. I'll still do my share of 12x12's but this should be fun and different. This picture is of my son, Nathan, when he was 12 months old. I just can't stand all of the expensive professional photos I have sitting in envelopes. I decided to scrap them and get them out of my office.
Here is the recipe for this page:
Paper: Deja Views Little one collection
Tools: Cuttlebug, Quickuts die
Buttons: Doodlebug Design
Thanks for stopping by!

I love this set! The paper in the Summer Picnic pack is so much fun. I am glad I made this purchase. This card is a case of the one I did with Dutch Girl paper awhile back. I love the layout and this paper is great for this layout. I attempted to cut the circles out with my Fiscars circle cutter. After fiddling with it for ten minutes and then getting Adam involved, I ended up just throwing it away. It just wouldn't work properly. Then, I was thinking about which products I would purchase to make circles, and how many different punches I would have to buy. Then it hit me! Duh! I have a Silouette! This machine is GREAT! I can make any size circle I want!!!
Here is the recipe:
Stamp: Tart and Tangy
Ink: Real Red, Gable Green
Paper: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Summer Picnic DP
Other: Dimensionals, Quickutz Silouette, scallop punch, Diamond Glaze, Cropadile, SU ribbon

Cosmo Cricket Desk Caddy

This is the desk caddy that I made this summer. I wanted something nice to put all of my junk in. :)
I bought the kit at Archivers, which was just the plain, unfinished wood parts. Each piece is seperate. Then, I painted it with MM paint. Then, I used Mod Podge to attach the Cosmo Cricket paper. I didn't embellish this because I thought it was kind of busy, and pretty on its own.
Thanks for looking!

Mini-Fritz!

These are the smaller version of Fritz. Each monkey is 2x2. The mouths are hand drawn. That is the one thing about the Silouette. It seems to have a tough time with the tiny details. I am going to apply these to something for the favors for Nathan's party. For more information on Fritz, please see my previous post.

Here's Fritz

Isn't he cute!? My husband designed this little monkey a few years back and he uploaded all of the pieces to my Silouette yesterday. He is 6.5x6.25 inches. We thought about using this card as Nathan's invitations, but I figured that would be a bit rough on the blade to do 25 of these. Each color is cut out seperately and glued on to the main brown image.

Nathan's Birthday Invitations

Hello! It feels like forever since I have posted! I'll be post four projects today!
First is my son, Nathan's, birthday invitations. I have to make 25 of these, and that's just close family, so I had to keep it simple. The big blank spots are from where I removed personal information.
Here is the recipe
Font: Hurry Up!, dark yellow
Stamps: Stampendous, Changito The Monkey, Hero Arts, Playful Animals
Ink: Old Olive, Basic Brown, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: whisper white, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Prismacolor Pencils, odorless mineral spirits
I have made only 5 so far! Twenty to go!

Ink: Pixie Pink
Other: Marvy punch, Cuttlebug, heart embossing folder
Have a great day!

Valentine's Day

Today was a rare snow day! It was great to be home from work. I slept in until 8:30! It was nice to catch up on the phone with family and friends. We had a very crafty morning making Valentines for both my son and daughter's classes and teachers. Then, I made chocolate chip pancakes for lunch! Healthy, I know. My daughter, Paige, who never eats, ate 4 of them!
Here is one of the Valentine's that I made for my son's teachers. They are so good to him and our family. It is nice to know that when I can't be with him, he is with people who really care.
Here is the recipe:
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, DP from Paper Studio
Stickers: K& Co- exclusive at Target
Ink: Pixie Pink for sponging the scallops
Other: Marvy punch, Offray light pink grosgrain ribbon, slit punch
Have a great day!

I have had these jumbo paper clips from Walmart for about a year now. I have not been much in the card making mood- uninspired, I guess. So, I remembered seeing these little flower clippies all over Splitcoast and decided to use those as my inspiration. Thanks to all who have uploaded the clippies! They are darling! I used some felt flower peices that I got at Archivers for 75% off. What a deal! I think I'm going to give these to my kids' teachers for Valentine's day. I know they aren't Valentineish (is that even a word) but I like them anyway!
I want to make a SU order soon but I can't decide what to get. I want to spend just enough to get the Salebration set. The catch is, I am NOT buying any more flowers! I love so many flower sets but I don't need them. I need masculine and kid type sets. So, what would you recomend? I really have no clue!
Anyway, here is the recipe for the clippies:
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Lavendar Lace, Certainly Celery, Cool Carribean
Punch: SU scallop punch
Clips from Walmart
Felt Flowers: KI memories

Have a great day!

I am so looking forward to a nice weekend without grading ANY papers! I feel like that's all I do lately! I am stampin as much as possible this weekend! Oh, and cleaning this mess of a house! Priorities!
I am going to order some of the MFT new stamps. I can't believe they put some of their sentiments on rubber! I laughed out loud on the night of the sneek peeks! Hilarious!!!!
I have to say that square shaped cards are my favorite. I guess the symmetry does something for me! I wasn't sure about Groovy Guava, but it is growing on me! The ribbon actually matches IRL.
Here is the recipe for this card:
Stamps: True Friend
Ink: Old Olive, Groovy Guava
Paper: Old Olive, Groovy Guava, Whisper White
Tools: Corner ticket punch, corner rounder, cropadile, Cuttlebug embossing folder, sponge
Embelishments: Ribbon: Michael's moss twill, Spare Parts brads
Have a great day!

Hello! I made another birthday card to help fill up my card tin. I am working on a card tin just for birthdays. I am going to separate it by months and write birthdays and dates on the first index card. Then, as I make cards that I feel a loved one would like, I'll put it in the tin in their month. I hope that made sense. My friend Heather made the suggestion for the tin.
Here is the recipe:
Stamps: True Friend, Studio G
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Bazzil Brown, river rock, really rust, whisper white, Apple Cider DP
Tools: ticket punch (NON SU), ticket corner punch, corner rounder, Cropadile, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, Scallop punch
Embelishments: brads- Spare Parts, May Arts polka dot ribbon, Target Wedding ribbon

Well, I have TONS of papers to grade! Have a fabulous day!

SWEET STUFF

Well, this didn't turn out quite as cute as I had invisioned, but hey. I tried! I just had to find a non scrapbooking project to use my Silouette on! The machine is so small and easy to use! I have Vista, and I have heard that some people had issues with the Silouette if they had Vista. The problems have been fixed. It only took me five minutes to set up the machine, download the software and cut out my first item! This is an altered hot cocoa can. I made this for my candy (just for the kids) in my classroom. I made a desktop organizer that matches the can. I'll upload that soon!
Here is the recipe:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Dutch Girl collection
Ribbon: Offray, white grosgrain
Tools: slit punch, Quickutz Silouette, Mod Podge
Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of you!

I bought this cute little paisley stamp at Archiver's after I saw the Paisley Rocks set from The Angel Company. I borrowed the set from my cousin, Heidi (sweetheidijo, sweetsomethings), and I really loved it. Since I don't have a TAC demonstrator, and I wanted the stamp NOW, I picked this one up. I guess when you are inspired by something, it makes you want it that much more!

Paper: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Elsiebelle!

I can't believe I haven't played with my Elsiebells more! I am finally starting to feel a little better so maybe I'll have a chance this week! This was a quick one, not the most elaborate card, but I think this little lady just steals the show! The card actually opens at the scallops. That makes it look a bit crooked!
Here is the recipe:

Tools: Slit punch, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol oms

Birthday Cards

Hello! Here is my latest creation.
This blue and grey birthday card was inspired by this card, http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/752483 . Here is the recipe:

Please take the In color poll!

Quickutz Sillouette, cards

Well, I have finally found time to upload some cards. I have gone back to teaching and have so little for stamping, let alone, blogging. I am going to try to do the blog thing at least twice a week now. It is so fun!
The cards are simple ones this time. I used Bazzil textured cardstock as the base of the masculine card. I love the blues in this paper. I got it at Archiver's as a freebie for doing a crop. The white is SU. I also used the SU ticket corner punch. The brads are from Spare Parts. I love finding them for half off at Hobby Lobby! The brown satin ribbon is from Target. 15 yards for three bucks in the wedding section.
The girlie card base is Bazzil black card stock and whisper white SU cardstock. The floral stamp is by Penny Black. The flower is Bazzil Wings with a MM rhinestone. The Sentiment is from a clear set, I'm sorry I can't remember the name. The black stitched ribbon is from Archiver's $1.99 bin!
My hubby spoiled me this year for Christmas. He got me a new Dell laptop and the Sillouette by Quickutz. Is he good or what?
More to come soon!
